United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Last week, the entire school focused on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Students explored different articles of the convention. For example, they focused on articles 3 and 7, which address what is in the best interests of the child., names, and legal nationality. They wrote their names and their meanings on name cards and colored the flag of their country of origin. They also explored articles 6 and 23, creating bracelets made from threads of life. Blue represents safety — home and family, the red color represents health, including access to nutritious food and medical services The white thread reminds us that we are all different and need various types of support throughout life.
