Parent involvement at Húsaskóli

Children's welfare and successful academic progress rely heavily on parents supporting their children's education, protecting their interests, collaborating with the school, providing relevant information, and participating in their children's learning and parent activities throughout primary school.

Information sharing between homes and schools, and cooperation between teachers and parents on learning and teaching, are crucial for successful schooling. Schools are responsible for establishing and maintaining such collaboration throughout the child's education. Parents' active involvement in their children's learning and activities is essential for them to fulfill their responsibility for their children's successful upbringing and education.

Parent association

The Parent Association's role is to support school activities, promote student welfare, and strengthen connections between home and school.

The Parent Association has two representatives on the School Council. Class representatives serve as parent association officers for each class or grade level.

Class representatives

The role of class representatives is to foster increased cooperation among parents/guardians, teachers, and students within each class. They act as supervisors by managing tasks and communicating them to others. They serve as liaisons between parents and homeroom teachers when specific issues need to be addressed with the parent association board or school council. One class representative from each grade level serves on the Parent Association board. Class representatives for each grade level decide among themselves who will volunteer for board membership and the order of alternates.
