Fish2

In the visual arts elective, students are exploring various printmaking techniques.

Visual arts teacher Ingibjörg reached out to the owner of Aldan (the fish shop in Spöngin), who provided whole fish (not filleted) for the project.
Ingibjörg demonstrated how students can create prints using natural objects by coating them with printing ink, taking care to apply the ink in an even, thin layer. The object (in this case a fish, though we've also worked with other items like straw, leaves, and more) is then pressed onto soft paper.
Not all students were ready to try printing on their own, but they watched closely and learned the process.
